Roomorama: An Accommodation Alternative

Finding a room in Manhattan with a good location at a reasonable price is near impossible! If you’re OK staying up around Central Park there are some good places, but in the more central location of Midtown it gets pricey. We had a one night stop-off in NYC before catching the train from Penn Station. We needed a cheap, cheery place, right in the heart of Manhattan so we could use our short time to get out & about without wasting time on the metro & lugging our baggage all across New York. It was looking like we would have to spend at least $180 for a double for one night!!

The situation is similar in most of the world’s top cities, & it sucks!… well that’s where Roomorama might be able to help.

Roomorama offers a wide variety of privately-owned rental properties all over the place. Rental periods can range from one night to a few months. You might be renting a room from an owner occupying the property, or you might get your very own digs! For us, it had a similar feel to couch-surfing, just with a fee.

Read the reviews, browse through the photos & contact the owner through Roomorama. Don’t bank on a penthouse suite for $50 a night!… but you can expect extra flexibility, a greater insight into the area, & a different dynamic to staying in a hotel.

So if your struggling to find good accommodation on the typical search sites, or you feel like a change & getting more involved in a local lifestyle, Roomorama is a great shout for some solid & safe alternative accommodation.
