South East Asia

Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore

This is the route we took by EVERY plausible mode of transport around South East Asia.

Motorbike Ride through Laos

3.5 months of no agendas, no stresses and no plans. Just us, new places, people, cultures, and a $20/day budget.

Trekking in the jungles of Thailand and Malaysia, tubing and kayaking in the Mekong River, lots of island hopping, swimming with Nemo, sharks, & sea turtles, stupid malaria tablets, beach parties until the sun came up, too many buckets of alcohol, witnessing the horrors of Cambodia, hanging out with the lazy artsy locals in Melaka, karaoke by the fire, bug bites, bug bites, bug bites!

  1. How did yo like Laos? I have been to Cambodia and Thailand, but never Laos. Would you recommend it? Hoe did it compare to Thailand and Cambodia?

  2. Rhys says:

Laos was a blast! Luang Prabang in the north was really spiritual with great scenery… one of my favourite places. Vang Vieng is mainly drinking on the river… no culture but a fun time for sure, & there are cool caves to sightsee too. Pakse & Champasak were pretty cool with temples & waterfalls… standard stuff but good stop off. & 4000 islands in the south were really chilled out… great vibe & surrounded by the Mekong.

If you get a chance I’d say it’s worth checking out for a fortnight or so!
