Thailand’s Top 5

Thailand is high on most people’s wish lists to visit… & so it should be! Thailand flights are never too expensive, & landing in Bangkok will open up the whole of the stunning South East Asian peninsula to you. We’re taking a nostalgic look back to the first country we backpacked & our favourite 5 stop-offs. Chiang Mai – Jungle Trekking Chiang Mai is a charming city, set high into the northern highlands of Thailand.... Read More

Christmas in the Philippines

It was our first white Christmas, without any snow, but sand! We jetsetted to Boracay, Philippines for a week of relaxing, boozing, and fun. Boracay is the Koh Phangan (minus the buckets of liquor!) of the Philippines, where foreigner travelers come to party all night long. Boracay’s claim to fame is it’s 4km stretch of white beach. It ranks in many top travel magazines as one of the best beaches in the world. The sand really is SO WHITE and... Read More

Philippines: Carabao Island

After a few days on the beautiful white beach in Boracay (mobbed with travelers!), we wanted a few days of quiet and leave the mobs of tourists to their booming music. We literally went on google maps, zoomed in on Boracay and looked for the next closest island to run away too. To the north of Boracay there is a sleepy little island, that no pokes at and is virtually untouched by the money and flashing lights in Boracay. The lovely little island of... Read More

Photo Friday: Colorful Sunset on Carabao

We snuck away from the party scene at Boracay for a few lazy nights at the neighboring island, Carabao. The sunset was one of the most impressive sunsets we’ve ever seen. The sky kept changing every few minutes starting with a bright pink until eventually the darkness of night mixed with the last of the sun’s orange rays long enough for me to take this shot!      Read More

South India: A Slice of Paradise

The North of India is notorious for being crazy, polluted, and overall makes for an intense experience. The South of India welcomes backpackers to sunny beaches, alcohol sales after weeks of sobriety, and a general calming feeling that the North is missing out on. We skipped around the coast line hitting beaches in GOA, Kerala, Pondicherry, and even Mumbai. The beaches were great.. even if they don’t compare to Thailand’s crystal blue... Read More

Photo Friday: A Silhouetted Sunset

A camel's silhouette in front of a stunning sunset A beautiful sunset over the sand dunes near Jaisalmer. We took a camel safari into the desert for the evening & watched the sky light up orange as the sun disappeared. The camel’s silhouette backdropped by the sun’s firey dissent was simply stunning.  Read More
